Industrial Moulds

Here at Moulded we bring you information and links to different types of industrial moulds. There are varying moulding processes and constituent moulds, from plastic and silicone to rubber and PVC. Industrial moulded products are manufactured in the form of soap moulds, shoe moulds, suppository moulds, aluminium moulds, road barrier moulds and cylindrical moulds. Moulds and injection moulding in particular is created by feeding thermo setting plastic into an extremely hot barrel that is then forced into a mould cavity that forms the required configuration. From this a metal mould is made by a precision machine to form the part required for the manufacture of large numbers of components. Anything from car body parts to bottle tops make injection moulded dies very economical with high production rates and usage with a variety of materials.

Injection Moulding

Process, Design And Applications Injection moulding is a process used to manufacture plastic parts from synthetic polymer materials such as thermoset plastics and thermoplastics. The products thus produced are identical in dimensions, shape and color. High impact polystyrene (HIPS) is one of the most common thermoplastics used in this process. Injection moulding is big business … Continue reading

Blow Moulding

Blow moulding is used to form hollow enclosed components where there are two basic types of technology: extrusion blow moulding and injection blow moulding. In extrusion blow moulding a parison or tube is created by extrusion. A mould is then closed around the parison and the product is blown to the form of the mould … Continue reading
